Box Score IOWA CITY, Iowa – Sophomore Liza Petushkova of the Drake University women's tennis team earned a win in the main singles draw Saturday, Oct. 13 on the second day of the ITA Central Regional Championships hosted by the University of Iowa.
 
Petushkova defeated Arkansas' Rice 6-4, 6-2 in her opening match of the main draw, but was defeated by Oklahoma's Taborda 6-3, 6-0 in her second match.
 
Sophomore Daria Walczak fell to Missouri's Abraham 6-2, 6-1 in her first match of the main draw and then lost to Nebraska's Cozac 6-3, 6-3 in her next contest. Sophomore Carmen Palumbo was placed in the main draw as an injury replacement, but she fell to Minnesota's Hart 6-4, 6-2. In the Bulldogs' final match, Sophia Haleas lost to SEMO's Barriga 6-4, 6-1 in a qualifiers consolation match.
 
Drake could potentially play extra exhibition matches at the ITA Regionals Sunday. It will be determined at a later time based off the conclusion of play Saturday night.
