CHESTERTON, Ind. – The Drake University women's golf team is set to finish its fall season at the annual Missouri Valley Conference Fall Preview Monday, Oct. 15 and Tuesday, Oct. 16. This year's MVC Preview will be contested at Sand Creek Country Club and hosted by Valparaiso University. The fall event serves as a preview for the MVC Championship, April 12-16, 2019, at Sand Creek.
Drake and eight other MVC schools, Bradley, Illinois State, Indiana State, Loyola, Missouri State, Southern Illinois, UNI and Valparaiso will play 54 holes over the two days on the par 72, 6,074-yard long course. Sunday is a practice round for the teams before Monday's 36 holes, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. and be a shotgun start. Tuesday's final 18 holes will begin at 8:30 a.m. as the teams will go off the first and 10
th tees.
The Bulldogs are coming off of a third-place finish at the Creighton Classic, Oct. 1-2. At the two-day event, Sigurlang Jonsdottir (Hafnarfjordur, Iceland) led Drake, placing tied for fourth individually, at 4-over par with a score of 150 for the two-round tournament. Her teammates,
Kristen Giles (Georgetown, Ontario) and Sam Paulack (Kansas City, Mo.) followed close behind, tying for seventh, shooting 7-over par as they each carded a 153.
Following its fall finale, Drake will open its spring season, Feb. 9-13, at the Battle at Boulder Creek in Henderson, Nev.
