Gillespie And Thorold Fall In ITA Central Regional Championship Final

Duo wins semifinal match Sunday before being clipped in the final.

Box Score TULSA, Okla. - Drake University's Vinny Gillespie (Stirling, Scotland) and Barny Thorold (Loughborough, England) advanced to the finals of the men's tennis doubles competition at the ITA Central Regional Championship Saturday afternoon.

The pair opened their day by defeating the Nebraska team of Toby Boyer and Micah Klousia, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to the championship of the doubles competition.

Gillespie and Thorold squared off against Oklahoma State's Emile Hudd and Maxim Tybar for the ITA Central Regional doubles title. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, Hudd and Tybar prevailed, 6-4, 6-4, to end the Bulldogs' run.

The Bulldogs return to competition to end their fall season Nov. 2-4 at the University of Minnesota's Gopher Invitational.
