POWELLS POINT, N.C. - The Drake University men's golf team posted a final round score of 292 to finish in tenth place with a score of 882 (302-288-292) at the Old Dominion/Outbanks Intercollegiate at Kilmarlic Golf Club.
Chase Wicklund (Scottsdale, Ariz.) was Drake's low scorer in the final round with a one-under par 70 while
Tommi Avant (Chandler, Ariz.) was next with a second-straight even-par 71. Avant tied for 12
th with a three-round score of 214 (72-71-71).
Kyle MacDonald (Burlington, Ontario) and
Lucas Scherf (Grinnell, Iowa) posted scores of 75 and 76, respectively. Scherf and Wicklund each tallied scores of 223, which T-40. MacDonald finished T-51 at 226.
Arjun Reddy (Tulsa, Okla.) completed the team's scoring Wednesday with a 79 and placed T-66
th at 231.
Campbell was the leader from start to finish as the Camels won the event for the fourth-straight year. With a team score of 818, Campbell finished 19 strokes in front of second-place UNC Wilmington at 837. Campbell's Jesper Svensson's was the individual champion as he led the entire tournament and blew away the field with a three-round total of 197 (-16) to win by seven strokes over his teammate Brett McLamb, who finished nine-under (204).
The ODU/OBX is the final fall event for the Bulldogs. Drake starts its spring season at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play hosted by Ball State, Feb. 10-12, in Dade City, Fla.
