Drake University's
Steven Doran and
Jacob Bacon have been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Football Team, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America.
The pair are now eligible for Google Cloud Academic All-America honors.
Doran, a senior wide receiver from Germantown, Wis., earned a spot on the team thanks to his breakout season in which he has hauled in nine touchdown receptions to rank in the top 10 in the Football Championship Subdivision and second in the Pioneer Football League as well. Doran owns a 3.40 grade point average as a physics and astronomy double major who has had 80 or more receiving yards in five games this season.
Bacon, a junior offensive lineman from Hastings, Minn., has helped lead an offensive line that has paved the way for one of the nation's top passing attacks that ranks among the top quarter in the nation in passing yardage. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Bacon has started every game he has appeared in this season and owns a 3.94 GPA as an actuarial science and finance major.
Bacon and Doran conclude their 2018 seasons Saturday at Morehead State. Kickoff is set for noon CST.
