14 Bulldogs Named to All-Pioneer Football League Teams

Allison, Auen, Balke, Herman highlight Drake representation on First Team

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake football was represented by 14 student-athletes on the 33rd installment of the All-Pioneer Football League team, the conference announced today.

Four Drake players were listed on the All-PFL First Team. Sean Allison, the league's Defensive Player of the Year, and Nick Herman, the PFL Offensive Freshman of the Year, were joined by defensive lineman Jacob Auen and kicker Harry Balke on the First Team. Herman was one of two freshmen included on the First Team alongside Valpo return specialist Ryan Ricketti.

Second Team Bulldogs included two offensive linemen in Nate Henry and Travis Gutierrez, along with defensive standouts J.R. Flood, Garrison Codde, and Kemani Wilson. Long snapper Brett Welsing was also listed on the Second Team.

Another quartet of Bulldogs were named All-PFL Honorable Mentions. Seniors Taj Hughes (all-purpose), Trystan Anderson (defensive line), and Nolan Korzeniowski (defensive line) were accompanied by sophomore wideout Jackson Voth.
The league's 11 head coaches nominated and voted for the All-PFL teams, with coaches now allowed to vote for their own student-athletes. Sixty-two student-athletes, representing all 11 league members, earned First or Second Team All-PFL recognition. A further 78 student-athletes received honorable mention.
Three student-athletes returned as First Team All-PFL selections in 2025 – Marist University graduate student offensive lineman Dominic Perricone, Presbyterian College senior defensive back Caleb Francis, and Presbyterian junior linebacker Carter Szydlowski. They were joined by six 2024 Second Team All-PFL honorees and seven 2024 honorable mention picks moving up to the first team in 2025.
The All-PFL Teams announcement is the second of the league's three postseason awards releases. The league will announce its Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Wednesday, coinciding with the announcement of the 32nd Academic All-PFL teams. The PFL's Annual Awards were announced on Monday.
