Bacon Earns First Team Google Cloud Academic All-America Honors

Junior is the third member of the football program to earn the honor in the last two seasons.

Drake University junior Jacob Bacon (Hastings, Minn.) has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I Football First Team.

Bacon, an offensive lineman who has started every game he has appeared in the past two seasons, has helped block for an offense that was one of the nation's top passing attacks that ranked among the top quarter in the nation in passing yardage.

Bacon, who stands at 6-feet, 6-inches tall and 310 pounds, owns a 3.94 grade point average as actuarial science and finance major.

In addition to this honor, Bacon has been named second-team All-Pioneer Football League and an Academic All-PFL selection this season.

Bacon's Google Cloud Academic All-America honor is the third by a member of the Drake football team in the past two seasons.
