DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team blanked Milwaukee, 7-0, Friday afternoon at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
 
"I'm impressed on how our girls played. Once again, we started strong in doubles. We keep getting better after every single match and it is exciting to see play better and better," said Drake head coach Mai-Ly Tran.
 
The Bulldogs (6-0) got out to a strong start and swept the doubles point. Kenya Williams and Megan Webb cruised past Nicole Clarke and Lucy Harper, 6-1 at No. 3, while Tess Herder and Liza Petushkova clinched the point with a 6-2 win at No. 1.
 
Drake continued its momentum into singles as the Bulldogs won the first set on five courts. Junior Joely Lomas was the first one off the court with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles. Petushkova improved to 6-0 on the season by defeating Anna Daniel Fuentes, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3. Webb secured the Bulldog win with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles.
 
The Bulldogs close out the weekend with a trip to Minnesota on Sunday. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
