DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team heads to Southern California for a pair of games as the Bulldogs square off against CSUN on Wednesday at 4 p.m. and UC-Riverside on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
Drake goes into its spring break trip with a 10-3 record and are coming off a 5-2 win over Grand Canyon. Freshman
Liza Petushkova continues an impressive rookie campaign as she leads the team with a 12-1 singles record and has posted a 12-1 doubles mark with teammate
Tess Herder at No. 1 doubles. Herder also has a strong singles record at 10-3, while
Summer Brills holds a 9-2 mark at the team's top singles spot.
CSUN welcomes the Bulldogs with a 2-5 record and is coming off a 5-2 win over Youngstown State on March 6.
UC-Riverside heads into a busy week as it will host Southern Utah and Bradley before squaring off the Bulldogs. The Highlanders enter into the week with a 1-13 record and are led by Tia Elpusan with a 5-6 record.
Following the spring break trip, the Bulldogs will have nearly two weeks to prepare for a home match against in-state rival Iowa State on Thursday, March 29.
