ST. LOUIS – Freshman Alison Walls (Kansas City, Mo.) of the Drake University women's soccer team is the first Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Newcomer of the Week for the 2018 season, the MVC office announced Monday, Aug. 20.
 
Walls, a forward, made an immediate impact in her first career match as she scored her first career goal just five minutes in of the season opener against San Francisco. In Drake's second match against Fresno State, Walls tallied the assist on the game-winning goal by Olivia Bruce. On the season, Walls leads the team in points with three and is tied for the team lead in goals scored.
 
Walls and her teammates travel to Kansas State Thursday, Aug. 23 for a 7 p.m. match that will be broadcast on ESPN3.
