Volleyball To Play Midweek Non-Conference Match At Kansas

Bulldogs to play their final match before MVC action starts Friday against UNI

The Drake University volleyball team faces the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence, Kan., Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 6:30 p.m. in its final match before conference play begins.

Tuesday's match will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Bulldogs go into Tuesday's match with an 11-2 record after winning two of three matches at the Mizzou Invitational last weekend to take second place in the four-team event.

Drake's lone loss last week was a 3-0 sweep against host team Missouri, a perennial NCAA Tournament team. Despite the loss, Drake holds the second best record in the Missouri Valley Conference and also lead the conference in opponent hitting percentage (.134) and blocks per set (2.46).

Kansas (6-4) is on a two-game win streak after back-to-back 3-0 sweeps over UNC Greensboro. Earlier this season they dropped a close five-set match to No. 16 Kentucky, as well as splitting a home-and-home series with Arkansas.

Following Tuesday's match, Drake opens up conference play at the Knapp Center against UNI Friday at 7 p.m. in the Knapp Center.
