CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The Drake University volleyball team continues its season on the road Friday against in-state foe UNI for a 6 p.m. match at the McLeod Center. UNI sits in second place in the league standings while the Bulldogs are aiming to turn around their recent fortunes.
Drake is reeling from six-straight losses to sit at 1-6 in the league standings, while UNI is 6-1 after suffering its first conference loss of the season Saturday evening against Illinois State.
Injuries have played a significant role in the Bulldogs'recent run of matches as the team has been without freshman
Haley Bush, the team's top offensive weapon, since Sept. 30.

Emily Plock has stepped up and recorded a career-high 28 kills in the four-set loss to Bradley. That performance marked her fifth-straight game with double-figure kills and the eighth time this season she has had 15 or more kills in a match.
UNI is in the top three in the league in nearly every offensive category and lead's the Valley in both assists and kills as Karlie Taylor posts 4.55 kills per set, while Rachel Koop averages nearly 11 assists per set.
Following Friday's match, the Bulldogs remain on the road to face Evansville, Indiana State and Valparaiso Oct. 25-28.
