Women’s Tennis Continues Play at ITA Central Regional

Petushkova and Tartarnikova to continue doubles play Saturday

The Drake University women's tennis team doubles squad of Liza Petushkova and Maria Tatarnikova advanced in doubles play on the second day of the ITA Central Regional in Norman, Okla.

Petushkova and Tatanikova defeated Central Arkansas' Chunxi Xin and Yada Vasupongchai, 8-7 (6), to advance in the doubles draw.

Also competing in doubles was the Drake team of Carmen Palumbo and Joely Lomas who fell to the Arkansas team of Alter/Rice, 8-1.

Liza Petushkova was the only Bulldogs competing in the main singles draw. Petuskhova won her opening match, 6-3, 7-6 over Creighton's Sarah Wilcox. However, Petushkova fell in the found of 64, 6-0, 6-2 to Oklahoma's Marcelina Podlinska.

The Bulldogs continue competition Saturday at the ITA Central Regional.
