KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the 17
th year in a row, the Drake University women's soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches College Women's Team Academic Award recognizing outstanding success in the classroom.
"It's always been important to our program to earn good grades," said Drake head coach
Lindsey Horner. "It's apparent that our players want to maximize their academic experience, take advantage of the opportunity to work with professors here at Drake, and open doors for themselves in the future."
To qualify for the award, teams must maintain a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Vanessa Kavan earned the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week award on Sept. 26 as a result of her commitment on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.
