DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University football team is preparing for the final home game of the 2019 season on Saturday, Nov. 16 against longtime Pioneer Football League rival Dayton. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. with Chuck Reed on the radio broadcast on 1350 ESPN Des Moines. Fans can watch on Mediacom/MC22 and at www.GoDrakeBulldogs.com.
Prior to the game, Drake will honor its accomplished senior class as 15 student-athletes will take part in the pregame ceremony. Following the final home game, Drake will gear up for its regular-season finale on the road against Davidson on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Drake (5-4, 5-1 PFL) has a chance to ensure it finishes ahead of Dayton (6-3, 4-2 PFL) in the PFL standings, which would lock up its fourth consecutive top-three finish in the PFL for the Bulldogs. Drake's defense will look to continue its momentum after bouncing back with a strong performance against Jacksonville, holding the Dolphins to just 14 points. The Flyers have one of the PFL's best offenses, leading the league in points per game at 41.2.
Rewind
After a tough loss at league-leader San Diego, Drake bounced back with a 28-14 win over the Jacksonville Dolphins at Drake Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 9 afternoon.
Drake was led on the ground by fifth-year senior halfback
Drew Lauer, who rushed for 147 yards, his second-highest total of the season, and two touchdowns.

The Dolphins were led on offense by junior quarterback Calvin Turner Jr. who rushed for 150 yards, and sophomore fullback AJ Davis who had 67 yards rushing, including a 53-yard touchdown run.
Drake's defense kicked off a strong game overall with an interception on the opening play as senior defensive back
Collin Seymour picked off the Dolphins on a trick play. The turnover set up a 35-yard drive that ended in a rushing touchdown from Lauer.
Toward the end of the half, the Drake defensive line held the Dolphins out of the endzone from one yard out as sophomore safety
Danny Morales ) recovered a fumble by Turner for a touchback.
A blocked Jacksonville field goal gave the Bulldogs another rush of momentum which set up a 37-yard touchdown pass from Corwin to Feller to put Drake up 21-7. The Bulldogs pulled away with another running touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to make the score 28-14.
