SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Drake University women's tennis team played four matches in the consolation bracket of the San Diego State Fall Classic II Saturday afternoon and followed that with more matches Sunday.

The Bulldogs dropped all four matches on the Saturday, but won a pair of doubles matches Sunday.

Drake's Carmen Palumbo fell by a 6-3, 6-1 score to Air Force's Nadeen Lieberman and Maria Tatarnikova suffered a 6-1, 6-1 loss to SDSU's Agustin Rimoldi. 

Palumbo and Tatarnikova also saw doubles action in a 6-2 loss to Air Force. Joely Lomas and Liza Petushkova saw a 6-4 setback in their match.

Sunday, Maria Tatarnikova and Carmen Palumbo, along with Liza Petushkova and Joely Lomas all picked up wins on the final day of the event.

Tatarnikova and Palumbo picked up a 6-1 win over Northern Colorado's Wolfe and Chhabra in doubles action. Petushkova and Lomas downed their foes from UC Irvine, 6-3. 

Both Tatarnikova and Palumbo also competed in singles action but dropped their matches.

The three-day SDSU Fall Classic II completes the Bulldogs fall schedule.
