CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Drake University team swept the final day of the UNI-Dome Classic with victories over Saint Louis, 7-1 and SEMO, 6-1 Sunday afternoon in Cedar Falls.
Drake (4-1) had two outstanding pitching performances in the sweep. In the Bulldogs' victory over the Billikens, sophomore

Nicole Newman (Madison, Wis.) followed that with her own complete game. Newman allowed one run on four hits with 11 strikeouts and just one walk as she moved to 2-0.
In the first game, sophomore
Macy Johnson (Winterset, Iowa), Newman and junior
Mandi Roemmich (West Des Moines, Iowa) each had two hits. Senior
Kennedy Frank (Chesterfield, Mo.) drove in two runs with a double as Johnson and Newman each clubbed a double.
Libby Ryan (Mount Vernon, Iowa) and Roemmich each scored a pair of runs.
In the second game, freshman
Hannah Pals (Des Moines, Iowa) drove in her first career runs with a two-run, second-inning triple and sophomore
Libby Ryan (Mount Vernon, Iowa) followed with an RBI single for three runs in the second inning. Later in the fifth, senior
Taryn Pena (Columbia, Ill.) and Newman hit back-to-back singles to each drive in one run. The Bulldogs' final run came on Frank's sacrifice fly that played Johnson.
