GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Drake University rowing team had three boats medal at its final regular season regatta, the 2019 MACRA Championships, held Sunday, April 28. The one-day event was contested on the Grand River in Comstock Riverside Park.
 
Drake's varsity 8+ and women's novice 8+ boats each placed second while its 2^nd varsity 8+ boat took third in their respective grand final races.
 
Drake competed against clubs and teams from Chicago, Cincinnati, DePaul, Grand Valley State, Eastern Michigan, Marquette, Mercyhurst and Miami of Ohio. The Bulldogs' varsity 4 boats also competed with the B boat in sixth place in its petite final.
 
Drake will have an extended break before it travels to Princeton, N.J. on May 19 for the 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. The winner of the MAAC Championship earns the conference' automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
