Djamgouz Signs With Drake Men's Basketball

Bulldogs add elite Canadian shooter to the roster

DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University men's basketball head coach Darian DeVries has announced the signing of Okay Djamgouz to a National Letter of Intent. Djamgouz will join the defending Missouri Valley Conference champions for the 2019-20 season.

The 6-foot-5 guard from Toronto, Canada is the latest addition to the 2019-20 roster in head coach Darian DeVries' second recruiting class and is considered one of the top shooters in Canada.

"Okay is an outstanding young man," DeVries said. "He comes from a great family that we are all very excited to add to our Bulldog Family. Okay is a very talented player on the floor. He can knock down shots, finish at the rim, create for others, and is a terrific competitor."

Djamgouz is the fifth-ranked Canadian player according to North Pole Hoops. Known for his three-point shooting, Djamgouz will add to a roster that already boasts great skill from beyond the arc.

"Okay will be a guy that Bulldog fans are going to love to watch over the next few years," DeVries added. "Our staff is very excited for Okay to be a Bulldog and I know our community will be as well."

Outside of basketball, Djamgouz is an elite cross country runner who is fluent in three languages.
