CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis opened its Missouri Valley Conference schedule with a dominant 6-1 win at UNI Friday afternoon.
 
Drake (7-12, 1-0 MVC), which only lost the No. 5 match to UNI (3-4, 0-1 MVC) due to Kenya Williams having to retire, dominated the other five singles matches. The Bulldogs and the Panthers split the doubles point as Liza Petushkova/Megan Webb won the No. 2 match 6-1 and Daria Walczak/Carmen Palumbo secured the point with a 7-5 victory in the No. 1 match.
 
Palumbo's 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 2 singles match clinched the victory for Drake.
 
The Bulldogs continue MVC play as Missouri State visits the Roger Knapp Tennis Center Sunday for an 11 a.m. match.
