Men’s Golf Takes 12th At Missouri Tiger Invitational

Wicklund leads the Bulldogs with a 71 in final round.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Drake University men's golf team carded a 296 on the final day of the Missouri Tiger Invitational to finish the two-day, three-round event in 12th place at 296-291-296 – 883.

The Bulldogs held their position on the leaderboard during final round with Chase Wicklund and Tim Lim leading the way with 1-under par 71s in the final round.

Lim recorded five-straight birdies on his scorecard to finish at 37-34 – 71 while Wicklund's round featured an eagle on the par-5, 525-yard No. 15 to record a 38-33 – 71.

Wicklund was the Bulldogs' top individual finisher in a tie for 41st while Lim was 47th.

Tommi Avant also recorded an eagle on a par 5 to open his back nine and finish at 38-37 – 75.

Lucas Scherf, who led the Bulldogs through the first two rounds, could not recover from back-to-back double bogies in recording a 41-38 – 79 in his final round to finish in a tie for 49th.

The Bulldogs scoring was completed by Kyle MacDonald at 40-44 – 84.

No. 35 TCU won the event at the Club at Old Hawthorne with a 40-under par 267-277-280 – 824. The Horned Frogs' Stefano Mazzoli earned medalist honors at 65-68-66 – 199.

Drake continues its spring season this weekend at the Husker Invitational, April 13.
