The Drake University volleyball team faces one of its toughest challenges to date this weekend with two matches against top-20 programs as part of the Bluejay Invitational in Omaha, Neb.

The Bulldogs' schedule includes matches against No. 12 Washington, No. 17 Creighton and Omaha.

Drake travels the short distance across I-80 with a 5-2 record this season after defeating Western Illinois, 3-1, Tuesday evening. The Bulldogs' strong start to the season has also netted the team individual honors as Haley Bush (Waukee, Iowa) has been named Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week while junior Kylee Macke (Ankeny, Iowa) has garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors this season. 

Competition for the Bulldogs begins Friday afternoon against No. 12 Washington at 3:30 p.m. Action Saturday starts with the Bulldogs versus No. 17 Creighton at noon, followed by a 5 p.m. match against Omaha.
