Men's Basketball Aims To Reverse Road Fortunes At Evansville

Bulldogs to meet the Purple Aces Wednesday night

The Drake University men's basketball team wraps up its road trip Wednesday in Evansville when it faces the Purple Aces at 6 p.m. ESPN+ is broadcasting the contest from the Ford Center in downtown Evansville.

The Bulldogs travel to the banks of the Ohio River following a brief stumble at SIU that resulted in a 66-49 loss to drop to 3-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference standings.

Liam Robbins continued his strong play in the loss with his second-straight double-double. The sophomore poured in 17 points and 10 rebounds. Robbins has scored in double figures in 11-straight games and is 22nd in the nation in blocks. His 50 blocks this season already rank as the fourth most by a Bulldog in a season.

Despite cooling off at SIU, the Bulldogs have shot 48 percent or better from the field in seven of their last eight games. In six league games, the Bulldogs have shot 48.2 percent, the third-highest mark in the Valley.

Evansville is seeking its first league win following six losses to open conference play. On the season, Evansville averages 70.6 points per game but has been held below 60 points in five of its MVC games.

Following Wednesday's game, Drake returns home to host Missouri State Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. The Bulldogs own the nation's 10th-longest home winning streak at 14 games inside the Knapp Center.
