The Drake University women's golf team is in second place after the two rounds of the Battle at Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nev. The third and final round will begin tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. CST.
The Bulldogs finished the first round one stroke behind first-place Ball State, paced by
Haeri Lee's 77 and
Aimee Gerschke's 79 on the par-72 course. Drake matched Ball State in the second round to remain one shot out of first place going into the final round with a team score of 632.
Lee is currently tied for second overall, trailing only UNLV's Dana Puyol who is competing as an individual. Lee led the field with 26 total pars, and Gerschke tied for the lead with five birdies.
After the event, the Bulldogs have a few weeks to prepare for the UTRGV Women's Invitational on March 2-3 in McAllen, Texas.
