Women's Tennis Squares Off Against Minnesota on Friday

The Bulldogs head to Minneapolis for a dual scheduled for 2 p.m.

MINNEAPOLIS – The Drake University women's tennis team (2-2) heads north on Friday for a dual against the Minnesota Golden Gophers (6-2). Action inside the Baseline Tennis Center is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
 
The Bulldogs have had two weeks to prepare for the dual since squaring off against Wisconsin on Jan. 31 in Madison. Drake fell, 7-0, but the doubles pairing of Liza Petushkova and Joely Lomas dispatched of Wisconsin's top doubles team, 6-3, en route to earning the MVC Doubles Team of the Week award.

The Bulldogs continue their challenging nonconference schedule with another test against a quality opponent. Minnesota finished last season 6-5 in Big Ten play and 14-11 overall, including an impressive 11-1 mark at home.
 
As a team, the Gophers have combined to go 51-11 in singles play this season. Ekin Ercetin (9-1), Juliet Zhang (9-1) and Dalila Said (6-0) lead the way for Minnesota.
