Men's Tennis Drops Dual to Iowa

The Bulldogs lost, 4-0.

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University men's tennis team fell to Iowa, 4-0, on Saturday night at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
 
Drake (1-8) dropped the doubles points as duos of Evan Fragistas/Luka Jankovic (2-6) and Matija Matic/Reid Jarvis (3-6) both dropped their matches. Barny Thorold and Oliver Johansson went unfinished at No. 1, trailing 4-3 at the time of the stoppage.
 
Thorold (1-6, 1-6), Jankovic (2-6, 1-6) and Fragistas (2-6, 2-6) lost in singles play as Iowa cinched up the dual. Johansson continued his impressive freshman season despite not getting a result. He led 6-2, 5-3 when his match was called off. Jarvis also held an advantage, 6-4, 3-2, when his match went unfinished. David Nyman trailed his match 1-6, 2-3 when the dual went final.
 
The Bulldogs return to action when they host Wichita State on Feb. 14. Drake and the Shockers met earlier this season in Fayetteville, Ark., with Wichita State prevailing, 4-1.
