STILLWATER, Okla. – The Drake University softball team was shutout by No. 14 Oklahoma State, 5-0, Sunday afternoon in Stillwater.
Oklahoma State (13-5) hit three home runs off Drake (7-12), which lost its sixth-straight game.
Alysen Febrey went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three runs batted in for the Cowgirls. Their leadoff hitter Kiley Naomi started the day with a solo home run off Bulldogs' freshman pitcher Mackenize Hupke.

Emily Valtman paced the Bulldogs' offense with a 2-for-3 performance.

Drake's best scoring opportunities came in the third inning when it loaded the bases with one out and in the fourth when it put runners at first and second with one out. But Ryan and Valtman struck out to end the threat in the third and Buie popped up and freshman
Aubree Beitzinger struck out to close the fourth.
Hupke (2-5) pitched five innings and allowed three runs on seven hits with four walks and two strikeouts. Fellow freshman
Allie Timmons tossed one inning in relief and allowed two runs on one hit and one walk.
Drakes closes its non-conference tournament slate March 6-8 in Lawrence, Kan. at the Rock Chalk Challenge hosted by Kansas. The Bulldogs open against Kansas City Friday at 11 a.m. and end the first day against the Jayhawks at 6:30 p.m.
