ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Drake University sophomore
Liam Robbins has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball All-Tournament Team, the league announced Sunday at the conclusion of the annual MVC Tournament.
Robbins was named to the five-player team after averaging 18.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game during the Bulldogs' run to the semifinals of the MVC Tournament. He closed the tournament with his seventh double-double of the season, a 19-point, 12-rebound effort in the semifinal loss against eventual tournament champion Bradley.
In the win over top-seed UNI, he had 17 points and nine rebounds after opening the tournament with 18 points and five rebounds against Illinois State.
Robbins is the sixth Bulldog in program history to earn MVC All-Tournament honors. He joins
Tremell Murphy (2019), Adam Emmenecker (2008), Jonathan Cox (2008), Josh Young (2008) and Curt Smith (1993) in winning the honor. His and Murphy's awards mark the first time the Bulldogs have earned All-Tournament honors in consecutive seasons.
Robbins' All-Tournament selection concludes a successful week of conference honors for the sophomore. Earlier in the week, he was named second team All-MVC, All-Defensive and Most Improved.
Robbins was joined on the All-Tournament Team by John Kiser (Valparaiso), Javon Freeman-Liberty, (Valparaiso), Elijah Childs (Bradley) and the Most Outstanding Player, Darrell Brown (Bradley).
