WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Senior
Tim Lim paced the Drake University men's golf team on the opening day of the Zach Johnson Invitational with a 72-75 – 147 on a windy afternoon at Glen Oaks Country Club.
Lim's 5-over par total is third on the individual leaderboard heading into Tuesday's final round and has the Bulldogs tied for second in the team standings, six strokes behind first-day leader Missouri State.
Lim carded three birdies in the morning round and an eagle on the par-5 No. 9 on the par-71 track at Glen Oaks to sit one stroke back of the individual leader. Missouri State's Max Kreikemeier had the top performance of the day at 74-72 – 146.
Shayne Patel finished his afternoon at 14-over par with a 79-77 – 156 while
Nick Pittman was one stroke behind with a 74-83 – 157 to keep the Bulldogs in the hunt heading into the final round.
The final round of the sixth-annual Zach Johnson Invitational tees off Tuesday, September 29, at 9 a.m.
