ST. LOUIS – Grace Berg of the Drake University women's basketball team has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for the fourth time this season, the MVC announced Monday, Jan. 11.
 
Berg helped Drake earn two big road wins over Evansville. She averaged 19.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 55.2 percent (16-of-29) from the floor and 85.7 percent (6-of-7) from the free throw line. Berg had an outstanding game in the finale with a career-high 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the floor.
 
Berg is averaging 15.8 points per game which is tied for second in the MVC while shooting 49.3 percent from the floor and 89.5 percent from the free throw line. Both of her shooting percentages rank second in the Valley. She has already recorded four 20-plus scoring games in her first season.
 
Drake returns to the Knapp Center Jan. 15-16 when Indiana State visits.
