The Drake University volleyball team improved to 3-0 to open the season with a 3-0 win over visiting South Dakota State Sunday afternoon at the Knapp Center.
Drake prevailed by set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 25-20.
The Bulldogs were led by sophomore
Haley Bush's 14 kills on 36 attempts as Drake's offense hit at a .236 clip.
Macy DeLeye added seven kills on 16 attempts.
Caitlyn Smith continued to engineer the offensive attack with 32 assists in the three sets and 14 digs to record her third-straight double-double. Her defensive effort was matched by senior libero

Gillian Gergen led the Bulldogs in blocks again with four.
SDSU was led by Crystal Burk's 13 kills and 12 digs in the season-opening loss.
Drake returns to action Jan. 29 for a rematch at Missouri Valley Conference foe UNI. Drake opened the season with a 3-1 win over the Panthers in the Knapp Center.
