The Drake University men's tennis team won 27 out of 30 matches at the Bulldog Cup over the weekend. The Bulldogs hosted opponents from DePaul, Northern Illinois, and Wichita State. 
 
10 of the Bulldogs win's came from the doubles portion of the weekend and 17 wins came from singles play.
 
Oliver Johansson, Jeremy Schifris, Matt Clegg, and Evan Fragistas won all their matches in the singles portion of the Bulldog Cup.

Sophomore Markus Bolin won four out of his five matches this weekend. He teamed up with Matija Matic in the doubles portion. The duo won two of their three matches. 

Bolin said, "I am very happy with the weekend. It feels great to compete next to the team and I feel like we're all showing how good we can be. Going into regionals this past weekend should really give us all a boost of confidence and for myself, I think that I've brought my game to a new level. I think all of us feel that we have a strong team, and we are all looking forward to the challenge at regionals."
 
The Drake duo of Johansson and Schifris won all three of their doubles matches, topping teams from three of the four school participating in over the weekend.
 
Clegg defeated Armin Koschtojan 6-3, 6-4 and Mikael Collbach 7-5, 7-6 (5) from Northern Illinois. He also teamed up with Gabriel Sardo for the doubles portion. The duo topped opponents from Wichita State and Northern Illinois.

Head coach Davidson KoKozlowski said, "Very pleased with everyone's performance. Everyone is competing very well. Since the first day of fall practice,  the team has really brought a new level of commitment to their training and can be easily seen in how physical and competitive they are playing. It was also great to see Matt Clegg play his first matches, at home, as a Drake Bulldog. His play got stronger and stronger as the weekend went on as he went undefeated in singles and doubles play. " 

Drake returns to the courts on Friday Oct. 22 in Lincoln, Neb. as they play in the ITA Regional Championship.
