CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Drake University volleyball team rallied in five sets at Southern Illinois Friday night.
Drake (8-5, 3-2 MVC) trailed 2-0 after the first two sets but roared back against SIU (5-13, 0-5 MVC) winning three-straight sets while never trailing in any of the final three sets.
Lindsey Pliapol had a team-high 19 kills for the Bulldogs while Ashley Kuhn and
Emily Plock each added 12 kills.
Mariana Rodrigues added 11 kills and 10 digs.
The Salukis hit just .112 and committed 34 attack errors. Drake bounced back after the first two sets, hitting .324 in the third, .359 in the fourth and .238 in the final.
Nataly Garcia had a match-high 21 kills and added 16 digs for SIU.
Drake closes the weekend at Missouri State on Saturday night at 5 p.m.
