The Drake football team is set to host Pioneer Football League opponent St. Thomas on Saturday, November 13 with kickoff slated for 12 p.m. at Drake Stadium. The game will be streamed on ESPN3 and broadcast over the airwaves on 1350 ESPN Des Moines.
Drake (2-6, 1-4 PFL) and St. Thomas (5-3, 4-2 PFL) are both coming off road losses in their previous contest. The Bulldogs lost a hard-fought defensive battle at Marist 7-0 on November 6 while St. Thomas had a three-game winning streak snapped as the hands of Davidson 42-15.
In a defensive battle in the loss at Marist, Drake held the Red Foxes to 256 total yards, including 70 on the ground. Defensive Coordinator
Al Smith's Bulldog defense is second-best in the PFL in yards per game and scoring defense. St. Thomas' league-worst 91.2 pass efficiency will have its hands full when it faces the Bulldogs pass defense efficiency which is second-best in the PFL.
Drake quarterback
Ian Corwin saw game action for the first time since October 16 and completed 13 of 27 passes for 144 yards in the game at Marist. Corwin, a junior out of Tulsa, Okla., has battled injury this year and has seen action in only half of Drake's eight fall 2021 contests. With a passer rating of 130 and only one interception on the season, Corwin will be eager to take on a St. Thomas Tommies defense that is holding PFL opponents to a league-best 292 yards per game.

Previously a member of Division III Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, St. Thomas joined the PFL for football and Summit League in Division I Athletics in July 2021.
