Women’s Basketball Hosts South Dakota

The Drake University women's basketball team is set to host South Dakota on Monday Nov. 15. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Bulldogs conquered Creighton in their last match-up. The game-winning three pointer came from freshman Katie Dinnebier, with three seconds left on the clock for the Bulldogs to win 82-79.

Dinnebier finished with nine points, four rebounds, and one steal.

Freshman Anna Miller scored a team high 17 points. She also grabbed five rebounds for Drake.

South Dakota heads to Des Moines with a 0-2 record. The Coyotes lost their most recent game to South Carolina, who is ranked number one nationally.

South Dakota shot 7.7 percent from the arc, making only one of 13 shots. The free throw line is the only area of the court the Coyotes shot greater than 50 percent.

The Coyotes were led by redshirt senior Liv Korngable, who scored 24 points.

In the two teams history, which dates back to 1979, Drake leads the series by one despite losing the last meeting with the Coyotes. In 2019 when the two teams last met, the Bulldogs lost in overtime, 102,94.

After meeting with South Dakota, the Bulldogs will host Iowa State on Thursday Nov. 18 at 6 p.m.
