The Drake University women's basketball team is set to host Minnesota on Thursday Dec. 23. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+ and Mediacom MC22.
The Bulldogs return to Des Moines after a 89-68 battle with Nebraska on Sunday Dec. 19.
Drake struggled to maintain possession against the Huskers, after losing their lead in the first quarter.
Junior guard
Megan Meyer tallied 16 points, missing only five of 16 shots in her 16 minutes on the floor. Meyer recorded several lay-ups in the third quarter that allowed the Bulldogs to minimize the Huskers' lead.
Junior forward
Maggie Bair added 14 points for Drake and grabbed four rebounds. She added one block and one assist to the books.
Redshirt-junior forward
Grace Berg led the Bulldogs in assists with six, recording a season high. She added 11 points, three rebounds and two steals to the books.
Minnesota heads to Des Moines after defeating Ohio, 99-93 on Dec. 15. The Gophers' were on a three game losing-streak prior to their meeting with the Bobcats.
The Gophers' lost to Big Ten opponent Nebraska on Dec. 6, 67-70.
Junior guard Sara Scalia led the Gophers with 37 points, making nine of 13 three-pointers. She leads Minnesota this season in shots from the arc, shooting 43.7 percent.
Drake leads the all-time-series with Minnesota, 9-6. In Des Moines, Drake is 6-1 against the Gophers. In their last meeting on Dec. 6, 2020, the Bulldogs won 99-66.
Drake remains at home to open MVC play on Dec. 30 against Indiana State.
