Women’s Basketball Opens Valley Play at Home

Bulldogs open conference play against Indiana State and Evansville.

The Drake University women's basketball team will open conference play with a pair of games in the Knapp. The first matchup is Thursday Dec. 30 against Indiana State and then on Saturday Jan. 1 against Evansville.
 
The Bulldogs open Valley play after defeating Minnesota, 77-63, on Dec. 23. Freshman guard Katie Dinnebier paced Drake with 14 points, four assists, and four rebounds. Three of her four assists came in the second half and led to three shots from beyond the arc.
 
Graduate guard Hannah Fuller recorded five assists against the Gophers and added 10 points for the Bulldogs. She grabbed a team high six rebounds.
 
Indiana State heads to Des Moines on a two-game winning-streak.
 
Junior forward Adrian Folks leads the Sycamores with 14.6 points and 5.8 rebounds. In her five game, she has found her way to the top of the Sycamores stats.
 
Junior guard Del'Janae Williams leads Indiana State in shots from beyond the arc with 17 made this season. She is second on the team with 12.2 points per game and averages 3.6 rebounds.

Tipoff against the Sycamores is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN3.
 
Evansville heads to Des Moines after falling to Butler 67-75 on Dec. 22. The Aces were scheduled to play UNI on Dec. 30, but the meeting was postponed due to COVID concerns in the Panthers program.
 
The Aces are led by junior guard Je'Naiya Davis who averages 20.6 points per game. In her seven apperances and four starts, the guard is shooting 50 percent from inside the arc and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc. She has missed only seven shots from the free throw line this season.
 
Junior forward Abby Feit averages 18.9 points per game and 10.2 rebounds. She leads the Aces rebounding efforts.

Tipoff against the Aces is scheduled for 2 p.m. on ESPN+. The Bulldogs are also holding Dollar Day on Jan. 1. Tickets for the game are one dollar if purchased online and at least 24 hours in advance. Certain items in the concession stands -- popcorn, hotdogs, soda -- are also one dollar. 
 
Drake hits the road after opening conference play to take on Loyola and Valparaiso.
