For the second time this season, Drake University junior forward has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week.
 
Brodie previously earned the honor Feb. 2 and along with fellow newcomer ShanQuan Hemphill a Bulldog has claimed the honor four times this season.
 
Brodie averaged 8.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game last week as Drake went 2-1 including a win over No. 22 Loyola that was the Bulldogs first win over a ranked opponent since 2013.
 
In that win, he played a season-high 37 minutes with nine points and eight rebounds while holding MVC Preseason Player of the Year Cameron Krutwig to 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting. He had a crucial block with eight seconds left to preserve Drake's overtime win. He also converted on a layup with two minutes left in OT that put the Bulldogs up by three. 
 
In the series opener against Loyola, he had 12 points in 19 minutes due to foul trouble on 5-of-7 shooting.
 
Brodie and the Bulldogs return to action this week with a Feb. 17 contest at UNI.
