DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University womens' tennis team won its third home match of the season with a convincing 7-0 victory over Omaha Friday evening at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
 
The Bulldogs (3-3) claimed the doubles point as the teams of Maria Tatarnikova/Liza Petushkova and Darinka Stepan/Ines Stephani prevailed.
 
In singles action, Petushkova and Stephani both prevailed in straight sets. Petushkova claimed her fourth win of the season at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Madison Gallegos. Stephani earned a 6-2, 6-3 decision at No. 4 singles over Marie Kapelevich in the first match to wrap up.
 
At No. 3 singles, Tatarnikova rallied from a 5-7 setback in the opening set to take the next two, 6-1, 6-1 over Natalie Lorentz. That win came after freshman Darinka Stepan sealed the team win with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles. 
 
The Bulldogs' homestand continues Sunday morning with a 10 a.m. match against Grand Canyon University.
