The Drake University women's volleyball team welcomes Bradley to the Knapp Center this weekend for a Missouri Valley Conference series. The first contest is set for Sunday at 2 p.m. followed by a second match Monday at 5 p.m.
A limited number of tickets are available for the matches at DrakeTix.com.
Both matches are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+. This will begin the Bulldogs' stretch of double-header matchups which will continue throughout the rest of the 2020-21 regular season.
The Bulldogs enter the weekend with a 4-1 record, including two conference victories over UNI to stand on top of the league's standings at 2-0. The two wins over UNI marked the Bulldogs' first win sweep of Panthers in the regular season since 1982. The Bulldogs' only loss this season came from the hands of No. 25 Marquette Sunday in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Senior, Emily Plock, leads the team with 3.33 kills per set. Last weekend's play moved Plock into ninth all-time in career kills with 1,023 in total. Setter Caitlyn Smith has fed Plock and the rest of the Bulldog hitters as she averages 9.18 assists per set.
Bradley is currently 1-1 on the season. The Braves split their last two matches against conference rival Illinois State. The Braves won the back end of the double header 3-0. Abby Johnson displayed a strong defensive effort with six blocks. Bradley won both meetings against Drake last season.
Following the match on Monday, the Bulldogs will travel to Normal, Ill. to face Illinois State Feb. 14-15.
