The Drake University women's tennis team is set to conclude its first homestand of the season with a match against South Dakota Saturday. Doubles play at 10 a.m. in the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs suffered a 4-3 loss to North Dakota to begin their season. Liza Petushkova dominated her singles match (6-1,6-2) and Maria Tatarnikova also found a way to get a singles match victory (2-6, 7-5, 6-3). Drake was undefeated in doubles matches, winning three matches on the day.
South Dakota is 1-1 through their first two matcches. Most recently, the Coyotes topped Sioux Falls 7-0. They opened the season with a 1-6 loss at Iowa State.
Drake and South Dakota last met in the 2019-20 season in the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. The Bulldogs claimed the victory 5-2.
Following Saturday's matches, the Bulldogs will begin a spurt of road matches as they travel to Kansas State on Feb. 12.
