PALM BEACH, Fla. – Senior Tim Lim led the Drake University men's golf team on the first day of The Southern Invitational with a 72-70-142 at Falls Club of the Palm Beaches.
 
Lim is in four-way tie for fourth place and sits just two shots off the leaders, Peter Gasperini of VCU, who went 71-69-140 and Jakob Henriksson of Old Dominion who carded a pair of 70-70-140.
 
As a team, Drake (294-302-596), is tied for eighth with Creighton (291-305-596). Middle Tennessee is the team leader at 281-291-572 with VCU just one shot back at 287-286-573.
 
Lim recorded five birdies, weathered a bogey on his second-to-last hole and improved by two shots Monday afternoon from his opening round in the morning to stay in the hunt heading to Tuesday's final round.
 
Tuesday's final round at the Falls Club will feature tee times and begin at 7 a.m. CST.
