The Drake University women's tennis team opened up the Missouri Valley Conference schedule in convincing fashion with a 7-0 victory at UNI Friday afternoon.
 
The Bulldogs dominated the match from start to finish with the Panthers only winning one set on the afternoon as the Bulldogs cruised.
 
Drake (5-4) easily won the doubles point with all three doubles teams winning and then picked up straight-set wins in every singles match except for No. 2 singles where Madeline Doherty won the first set, 6-4, before Drake's Daria Walczak fired back with 6-3, 13-11 results to thwart any hopes UNI had of scratching out a point. 
 
The win was the Bulldogs' fifth win in their last six matches with UNI. The team returns to action next weekend with home matches against Creighton and Missouri.
