TERRE HAUTE, Ind – The Drake University volleyball team opened the second half of the Missouri Valley Conference season with a 3-0 win at Indiana State Sunday afternoon.
 
Behind 15 kills on 35 attacks from senior Emily Plock, the Bulldogs cruised by set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-21. Her 15 kills moved her into sixth all-time in Drake history with 1,161 career kills. 
 
Drake (9-5, 7-4 MVC) also got 13 kills from Haley Bush and 10 from Lindsey Pliapol as the Bulldogs hit .313 in the win. Caitlyn Smith directed the offense with 38 assists while Kylee Macke anchored the defense again with 20 digs. Bush and Smith each had double-figure digs as well to record double-doubles.
 
That same defense held Indiana State to .174 hitting and forced 19 attacking errors to record the Bulldogs' third-straight win.
 
The two teams return to the court Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. CST to close their MVC series.
