SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Junior
Haeri Lee of the Drake University women's golf team earned medalist honors at the MSU Spring Invitational. Lee fired a final round 75 (+3) Tuesday to win by one stroke with a three-round score of 228 (75-78-75) holding off Faith Hopkins of Missouri State. Lee has now earned three medalist honors in her career.
As a team, Drake moved up one place Tuesday, for a third-place finish in its first tournament of 2020-21. The Bulldogs posted a 968 (324-334-310) at the two-day tournament. Missouri State won the tournament with a score of 934 (314-310-310).
Junior
Kristen Giles carded a final round 74, matching two others for lowest 18-hole score in the field, to place fourth (81-80-74-235). Senior
Sam Paulak finished 24th (83-90-78-251) while freshmen
Aayushi Sarkar tied for 26th (85-86-83-254) and
Kelly Kavanagh in 35
th place (91-95-86-272).
Drake travels to Kirkwood, Mo. March 29-30 for the Diane Daughtery Invitational hosted by SIU.
