The Drake University volleyball plays its final home series of the season this weekend when it welcomes SIU to the Knapp Center for a two-match series Sunday and Monday. Sunday's match starts at 2 p.m. with the series finale Monday at 5 p.m. Monday's contest will air on ESPN+
The Bulldogs are 7-2 at home this season to stand at 10-5 overall and 8-4 in MVC action. The team is on a four-match win streak to tie for their second-longest streak of the season.
Monday's game will also serve as the Bulldogs' senior day as they honor the team's three departing seniors in Riley Dolphin, Gillian Gergen and Madi Ford.
Gergen is one of the Drake players that rank in the top five in the Valley in kills (Bush, 2nd, 4.23 k/s), assists (Smith, 2nd, 10.39 a/s), blocks (Gergen, 4th, 1.02 b/s) and digs (Macke, 1st, 5.91 d/s).
In its last outing, Drake rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Indiana State 3-2 behind a career-high 20 kills from Lindsey Pliapol. Emily Plock had 31 kills in the series to give her 1,177 career kills, the fifth most in program history.
SIU travels to Des Moines with a 2-14 record on the season and has just one league win this season. Drake has won three of the last five games in the series with the Salukis.
