Drake University sophomore Evan Fragistas has been named the Summit League Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, March 2.
 
Fragistas helped the Bulldogs open their conference season with a win over Illinois State Sunday afternoon. On the week, he had a pair of straight-set singles victories that included a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles against Illinois State's Diego Herrera to open the Summit League season with a team victory.
 
Earlier in the week, he defeated Utah's Mathias Gavelin, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and is 3-0 in singles action this season.
 
In doubles action, he teamed with Freddie Powell to earn a 7-5 win over Illinois State at No. 3 doubles.
 
Fragistas and the Bulldogs return to action this weekend with a March 6 match at Western Michigan and a March 7 contest against DePaul.
