Women's Tennis Ventures To Marquette

Bulldogs challenge the Golden Eagles Saturday morning.

The Drake University women's tennis team travels to Milwaukee, Wis. to challenge Marquette for just their third road match of the season. The first serve is set for 10 a.m Saturday. This is the last non-conference match for the Bulldogs of the season.

The Bulldogs are still one match above .500, sitting at 6-5 on the season. Last weekend, Drake topped Creighton 6-1 on Saturday before losing 6-1 Missouri on Sunday. The Bulldogs lost only one match in both singles and doubles competition against Creighton. Ines Stephani was the only victor in the Missouri Challenge.

Marquette is also one match above .500 with the record of 5-4. They, just like the Bulldogs, recently played Creighton in which Marquette lost 2-5. However, they defeated the Omaha women's tennis team 5-2 the following day. Marquette has had two weeks off going into the Drake matchup. These two teams last met two years ago when the Bulldogs took a 1-6 loss.

Following this match, the Bulldogs will go on to face four straight conference foes. The first being Valparaiso on April 3.
