CHICAGO, Ill. – The Drake University men's tennis team wrapped up its two-match weekend road trip with a 4-3 loss at DePaul Sunday afternoon.
 
The back-and-forth match came down to the final match where DePaul's Tripp Tuff earned a 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 win over Drake's Freddie Powell at No. 6 singles.
 
Prior to that decisive match, the Bulldogs claimed the doubles point but DePaul erased the Bulldogs' lead with wins at No. 4 and 1 singles. Drake's Benedek Herman evened the match at No. 2 singles with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win.
 
DePaul retook the lead at 3-2 thanks to a win at No. 3 singles before Gabriel Sardo squared it up again for the Bulldogs with a the 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles. That ultimately made the decision at No. 6 singles the decisive match.
 
The Bulldogs return home for nearly two weeks of practice and training before competing next against Omaha March. 20 at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
