CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Drake University's Kristen Giles finished tied for second with a three-round score of 223 at the UNI Spring Invite to help the Drake women's golf team finish third out of four teams.
 
Giles carded rounds of 72-74-77 – 223 to lead the Bulldogs and finish in a three-way tie for second place, just one stroke off the lead set by UNI's Sydney Eaton. Giles' first-round 72 was the lowest to open the tournament.
 
Iowa won the event at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course with a 897 total. UNI followed at 917 while the the Bulldogs were at 926.
 
Sam Paulak finished 10 strokes behind Giles at 79-76-78 – 233 while Haeri Lee carded a 75-79-81 – 235. Paulak finished 11^th in the individual standings while Lee was 19^th.
 
The Bulldogs will refrain from competition next week to prepare for the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, April 19-20, in St. Charles, Mo.
